圖形字型
常用的字型檔都是以儲存各種語言的不同設計字體為主，但有些字型檔是以小圖形為主體。如Windows系統中預裝的Wingdins, Windings 2, Wingdings 3, Webdings等圖形字體。
近年來很多名片上「手機」、「電話」、「傳真」、「電郵」、「地址」、「網址」等不再以上述文字標明，而改以如下圖片中的圖形符號來標示，甚或要標示Facebbok, Line, WeChat, Skype, Whatsapp等的聯繫方式也以圖形符號標示。然而Windows中的圖形字型已不敷使用，因此有很多開發者會開發新的圖形字型。
有些設計師會採用ai、png、icon等格式的圖形符號圖檔來設計，另一種方式就是找圖形字型來設計。但如果你用「icon」等關鍵字在搜尋引擎找出的，多是ai,、png,、icon等格式。若想精確搜尋到「圖形字型」，就要用「dingbat font」或「dingbats font」為關鍵字搜尋。
